If you are looking for a board with a particularly small pack size, the new Fit Ocean Shaka Air could be of interest. Inflatable, with a slim carbon plate and split deck pad for easier folding.

The pack size of inflatable wingfoil boards is already significantly smaller than that of hardboards, but the width of the Shaka Air model shrinks even further when packed.

This is made possible by a narrower carbon plate for foil mounting and a split deck pad that allows the deflated board to be folded lengthways twice. The workmanship is impeccable, the solid laminated carbon plate holds the foil and has a small integrated recessed grip. A silicone edge at the tail should ensure a clean water release. A practical test will follow shortly.

The Shaka Air is available in the sizes 5'3×27″ (110 litres); 5'6×28″ (120 litres); 5'8×29″ (135 litres); 6'4×33″ (155 litres).

All boards are five inches thick, which is rather thinner for inflatable wingboards and should ensure good tipping stability. Up to 20 psi of pressure in the board provides the necessary rigidity.

The Fit Ocean brand has already attracted attention in the SUP market with innovative solutions for inflatable boards. The attached carbon nose is not only exclusive, but also works really well.

SUP is Stephan's second passion, which he pursued for several years at numerous SUP races. Today, he prefers to paddle on river tours with family or friends - even for several days.
