Anyone embarking on the adventure of Paros for the first time should be warned! Because the island is enveloped in a magical aura and once you have been seduced by this magic, it is highly unlikely that this will be your last visit. Now, you don't have to have drunk from the enchanted fountain in the town of Drios to be "infected" by Paros, to give the local legend an ounce of truth, because the fourth largest island in the Cyclades is world-famous for its excellent windsurfing spots thanks to the constantly strong Aegean summer wind Meltemi.
You can find these spots in the PDF download:
SOUTHEAST: Golden Beach, Tserdakia, EAST: Logaras, Piso Livadi, Molos, Tsoukalia NORTH: Naoussa Bay, Santa Maria WEST: Pounda
Here you can find the information about the Paros spot guide - as announced in SURF 3/2006:
The capital of the island,ParikiaParos has one of the largest harbours in the Cyclades with the best shipping connections to the other islands and the port of Piraeus in Athens. Around ten ferries a day come to Paros in the low season and up to 30 ferries in the high season. In addition to the normal ferries, more and more modern high-speed ferries are also being used. At a small surcharge of five to ten euros compared to the normal price of 20 to 25 euros for conventional ferries, these shorten the journey from Piraeus to Paros from around five to six hours to just three hours. Recently, there is also a flight connection from Athens to Paros. However, as there is only one small airport on the island for purely domestic flights operated by "Olympic Airways" (capacity for 38 people), this option is only reliable for early bookers. Otherwise, use the direct flights to Santorini, Mykonos or Athens and then take the ferry across.
