Surrounded by rolling hills, with crystal-clear water and consistent thermals, the sheltered bay of Alaçatı offers ideal conditions for beginners and professionals alike. Now there is also another centre there

The shallow water makes Yumru Koyu Bay in Alaçatı particularly attractive, as does the excellent infrastructure and, above all, the professional centres on site. In addition to the well-known centres, the new Sun Surf Alacati centre opened this year. In addition to windsurfing, all centres also offer wingfoiling and kitesurfing.

The brand new Sun Surf Alaçatı centre has opened its doors on the site of the former ION Club in 2025 - a breath of fresh air in the established water sports scene of the Turkish Aegean. The centre is managed by Abdurrahim Korkmaz (known to many regular guests as "Apo"), a renowned water sports enthusiast and instructor who has made a name for himself in the Turkish scene through years of experience and commitment.

I am a windsurfer. And I always will be. Having my own centre has always been my dream - now I've realised it. (Apo)

The centre boasts high-quality, up-to-date equipment: windsurfers have access to equipment from JP, Tabou, NeilPryde and GA Sails, while wingfoilers are well equipped with Duotone equipment. In collaboration with the High Tide kite school, there is also the opportunity to learn kitesurfing with the latest CORE equipment or simply go out on the water yourself.

The location of Sun Surf Alaçatı is not only scenic, but also ideal for sports. The centre is located in the lee of the shallow bay, which is particularly attractive for foilers: In this sheltered area, the water already gets a little deeper, which makes for a safe and comfortable introduction to foiling - perfect for learners as well as experienced wingfoilers who want to refine manoeuvres. For beginner windsurfing lessons, you then head a little further upwind so that the standing area can be used. There is a coffee shop for breaks in between and a kids' camp for younger surfers in summer.

ASPC (Alaçatı Surf Paradise Club)

The largest and most established centre is Alaçatı Surf Paradise Club, which is celebrating its 30th birthday this year. ASPC has long been an integral part of the water sports scene in Alaçatı and the team attaches great importance to professional support and a family atmosphere. Just in time for its milestone birthday, a lot has also happened here this year: the centre has been extensively renovated and is now in a new location right on the water - a significant upgrade that makes access to the spot even more convenient.

The quality of our equipment and team is most important to us.

Thanks to its new position at the front, the ASPC now offers direct and quick access to the board, ideal for those who don't want to waste any time. The station is still in the centre of the bay and therefore ideally located in the spacious standing area, which is particularly popular with beginners and intermediates. Here you can practise your first manoeuvres safely and try out new equipment without stress - from JP, Neilpryde, Tabou and GA Sails or Duotone.

Thanks to our years of experience, we are simply experts in everything we do.

With the redesign, the ASPC centre underlines its claim to provide windsurfers from all over the world with a well thought-out, high-quality offer - combined with a location that is hard to beat in terms of comfort and access. The ASPC has also been offering a kids' camp for many years, so that the promotion and supervision of young people in the sport is fully supported. Several times a year, ASPC also organises water sports events in cooperation with surf Magazin and Surf & Action Company!

MYGA Surf City

The Myga centre, founded in 2005, is the furthest upwind of the three centres in the bay, so that direct access to the standing area is also guaranteed here. Here, too, training is provided at various levels, with rental equipment from Duotone, Severne and Patrik available. Myga Surf City is particularly proud to have hosted the PWA World Cup in Alaçatı from 2008 to 2010. Last year, the IFCA European Slalom Championship was held there, and in 2025 the centre will be the proud host of the IFCA World Grand Slam.

Like many other centres, MYGA has been working hard to promote youth development in the sport for many years and launched the Super Surfers, a special programme to promote and train future professional surfers, back in 2009. Over the years, the team has taught over 2,500 children to surf, some of whom have gone on to represent Turkey at the Olympic Games.

Every year we work hard to create windsurfing activities and challenges to bring people closer to windsurfing and make it more popular.

Conclusion

With a flight time of around three hours, Alaçatı can be reached very quickly from Germany. With a good selection of professional centres and the conditions, Yumru Koyu Bay has earned the name "Alaçatı Surf Paradise". All three of the centres presented here offer excellent conditions for water sports enthusiasts, but differ in terms of facilities, target groups and additional offers. In addition to the huge range of water sports on offer, the small town of Alaçatı offers a wide selection of accommodation and a diverse culture. Whether it's a visit to the bazaar, dinner in one of the many Turkish restaurants or a simple stroll through the old town, culture and relaxation are a given here. So if you don't just want to surf in colder Germany this summer, but also want to avoid a long journey, Alaçatı Surf Paradise is the perfect place for you.
