Try it out! Once again this year, this is the motto for all those who come to boot and want to try out a wide variety of surfing sports for the first time.

In January, Hall 17 at boot Düsseldorf will once again be the meeting point for the international surfing and trend sports scene - and an action arena for all those who want to get active themselves. From 17 to 25 January 2026, the focus will be on the fun of sport and the shared experience: numerous hands-on activities invite visitors to get on a board themselves and try out SUP, wakeboarding, windsurfing, skimboarding or pumping.

Experienced coaches give practical introductions to equipment and technique, share practical tips and accompany participants as they take their first steps on the water. In daily beginner sessions, those interested can try out which board sport suits them best in a safe environment.

Try out windsurfing, pump foiling, SUP, skimboarding and wakeboarding for yourself

The programme includes:

  • Wakeboarding and stand-up paddling on the 62 metre long action pool
  • Pump foiling and the first "flight attempts" over the water
  • Windsurfing, powered by 82 wind machines and in the simulator at the VDWS Surf Academy together with 42-time world champion Björn Dunkerbeck
  • Skimboarding on a shallow water pool in Hall 17

Registration is possible via the boot Düsseldorf website: https://www.boot.de/de/Besuchen/Themenwelten/Surfsport/Surfsport

Spontaneous travellers may be lucky enough to get one of the popular slots on site. The right equipment - from wetsuits and impact protection waistcoats to helmets - can be hired directly on site.

Those who prefer to stay on land can take part in dry workshops with the VDWS (Association of German Water Sports Schools). The simulator courses are ideal for beginners and intermediates who want to get tips and tricks from professionals. And for those who want to fly high, the kitesurf simulator awaits - with a little courage and body tension, you can fly right up to the ceiling of the hall.
