The third BrettlesPaddler SUP camp on Lake Constance is in the starting blocks and promises to be a highlight for all stand-up paddle enthusiasts. On the Whitsun weekend from 7 to 9 June 2025, the surf site in Radolfzell will be transformed into a meeting place for SUP enthusiasts of all levels. The organisers have put together an extensive programme ranging from paddling technique and safety training to guided tours and board tests. The opportunity to test various SUP boards, including hardboards, as well as paddles ranging from plastic to full carbon, should be particularly exciting for many participants.
The camp focuses on improving individual paddling technique. Participants can look forward to intensive sessions, such as perfecting the basic stroke. In addition, various paddling techniques are taught and manoeuvres such as pivot turns are practised. For ambitious paddlers, the camp also offers the opportunity to try their hand at draft paddling, a technique that is particularly useful in race mode. Another focus is on optimising balance skills on the SUP board - a basic prerequisite for advanced techniques and safe paddling even in more demanding conditions.
In addition to pure paddling technique, the organisers attach great importance to safety. Special safety training is on the programme, where participants can learn and practise rescue and self-rescue techniques. Paddlers also have the opportunity to try out various rescue equipment such as waistcoats and restubes. These aspects are particularly important for beginners, but also for experienced paddlers, in order to be prepared for all situations on the water. Material and technical knowledge rounds off the programme and gives participants valuable insights into the world of SUP equipment.
A special highlight of the camp is the joint barbecue, where participants have the opportunity to share experiences and meet new paddling friends. This social aspect of the event emphasises the community character of SUP sports and offers an ideal platform for networking and exchanging experiences. The guided SUP tours on the crystal-clear waters of Lake Constance promise not only sporting challenges, but also unique experiences of nature and the chance to put the skills acquired directly into practice.
