After the Mercedes-Benz Surf Festival Fehmarn had to take a break in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, current developments as well as restrictions and resolutions for major events in Germany have led to the event being postponed again from May to late summer. Europe's largest participatory trade fair forWindsurfers and SUP fans will take place on Fehmarn from 16 to 19 September 2021.
In view of the continuing challenging situation Due to the current situation surrounding Covid-19, it is already foreseeable for Delius Klasing Verlag and its SURF magazine as organisers that it will not yet be possible to hold the Mercedes-Benz Surf Festival Fehmarn with several thousand visitors in May. In close consultation with the local authorities and partners on the Baltic Sea island, the new date of 16 to 19 September 2021 was therefore set at an early stage.
"We are happy about this at first, Together with all our partners, we have already found a suitable date in late summer. This new starting position makes us very optimistic that we will be able to welcome many windsurfers, SUP fans and of course the entire industry to the south beach on Fehmarn in September," says Linda Schroeder, Event Manager at the organising Delius Klasing Verlag. SURF editor-in-chief Andreas Erbe also believes that moving the event to the third week of September is absolutely the right move: "We want all visitors, partners and exhibitors to be able to experience a surf festival with as few worries as possible. And the chances of this are very good in September. I'm sure the long-time fans of the surf festival will agree," says Erbe.
Beachcamp tickets that have already been booked remain valid for the new date or can be cancelled without any problems. Up-to-date information about the event can be found on the event page www.surffestival.de, where a separate Corona news section has been set up with immediate effect, explaining the general measures to prevent the spread of the virus at the festival and also showing what possible current changes in the situation could mean for the event in September.
