The trade fair in Nuremberg is a hotspot for the SUP scene. The best coffee is available at the Thule stand, a good reason to sit down there for 5 minutes with Thorsten Kegler, the SUP man on the DWV board.

What are your priorities for 2015? "We are focussing on the national team and youth work." Who is nominated after this season? "We have Alex Stertzik, Kai Steimer, Peter Weidert, Valentin Illichmann and Susanne Lier. Noelani Sach and Ole Schwarz have qualified for the U18s, but they'll already be 18. We'll see."

What does the team do? "For example, we are planning to train together on Fuerte. Eric Terrienne and Peter Bartl are being discussed as coaches." And what else? "We are now organising the training together with Austria, with Peter Bartl. I would also like to see a reduction in the number of German championships in 2016. Perhaps we can achieve this through cooperation (ed.: between the various associations)."

Thank you Thorsten.
