For Eisbach surfers: free vouchers for O2 Surftown
Germany's first surf park is responding to the disappearance of the Eisbach wave and is offering free sessions to all surfers affected until the end of November. The campaign is intended to emphasise the close connection between Munich's traditional surf scene and the new wave park.

O₂ SURFTOWN MUC is showing solidarity with the Munich surfing community and is offering all Eisbach surfers a free surf session until the end of November. The background to the campaign is the currently disappearing wave on the Eisbach, which is considered the centrepiece of German surf culture and has inspired generations of surfers. After the river was cleaned up, the wave has not yet been rebuilt. Munich's Lord Mayor Reiter wants the reactivation to be examined in three stages.

Free voucher for the O2 Surftown only for Eisbach surfers

All Eisbach surfers who can show a photo of themselves surfing on the Eisbach can take part. The wave setting and level are freely selectable so that every surfer can choose the wave that suits them best. You can find the link to the voucher below.
For O₂ SURFTOWN MUC, the Eisbach plays a central role in the company's history. Many team members, including Managing Director and founder Chris Boehm-Tettelbach, are regularly in the water at Eisbach and started surfing there. The current situation, in which the iconic wave in the English Garden has disappeared, therefore also affects the Surftown team personally. With the free event, the surf park now wants to send a signal of solidarity and give something back to the community.

Sign of solidarity

"The Eisbach has shaped SURFTOWN - many of the team started surfing there and regularly spend time at the Eisbach. With this campaign, O₂ SURFTOWN MUC wants to give something back to the community and show that it stands by the Munich surf scene," says Jonas Boehm-Tettelbach, co-founder of Surftown. The operators hope that the Eisbach wave will soon return in its old form and Munich will regain one of its most iconic landmarks. Until then, the artificial wave in Hallbergmoos offers an alternative for anyone who doesn't want to miss out on their regular surfing experience. The campaign runs until 30 November 2025 and interested Eisbach surfers can register on the Check the company's website for the exact conditions of participation.

Innovative surfing facility as a supplement
