The Danish SUP Tour is looking for a breath of fresh air for 2026 and is expanding its race calendar to include three new destinations. The events are also attractive for athletes from Northern Germany. The organisers have now announced the official dates for the coming season. In addition to the proven location on Ringkøbing Fjord, Grenaa, Bornholm and Klintebjerg on Fyn will be part of the race series for the first time. In total, the calendar includes four regular events as well as the separate Danish Championship. In their announcement, the organisers express their enthusiasm: "We are very much looking forward to travelling around the country - this time with three new destinations - and of course we are also looking forward to seeing all of the tour participants."

The Danish SUP Tour 2026 kicks off on 2 May in Grenaa. The event is being organised in close cooperation with the local association Grenaa SUP Ohana, which has already had a strong presence on the tour in previous years. Participants can expect a long-distance race. The exact details of the race format and route are expected to be announced in early 2026, when the in-depth descriptions of all events will be published on Sportstiming.
The second stop on the tour will be Bornholm on 23 and 24 May. In collaboration with Destination Bornholm and Outdoor Bornholm, an exciting two-day event is being organised in an impressive setting. The organisers have deliberately chosen the Whitsun weekend to give participants the opportunity to spend three to four days on the "sunny island". "This is the first time that we have moved the SUP tour to Bornholm," explain the organisers. The island, which is known for its picturesque landscapes and cliffs, offers a unique environment for SUP competitions. The strategic scheduling over Whitsun allows participants and accompanying persons to combine a short holiday with the competition and take advantage of the island's many tourist attractions.
A highlight in Denmark's SUP calendar will be the national championship, which will take place on 22 and 23 August 2026. The organisers are still keeping the exact venue a secret and have announced that the location will be announced shortly. Although the Danish Championship is part of the overall concept, it will be organised as a separate event alongside the regular tour series. It will determine the country's best paddlers in various disciplines and age groups. Traditionally, the championship includes both sprint and long-distance races and attracts the elite of the Danish SUP scene.
Ringkøbing Fjord remains the only venue on the calendar from the previous year. On 6 September 2026, the tour will return for the legendary "Fjord X-ing" event. The event will be part of the Waterz weekend, which will also focus on numerous other water sports. The organisers recommend booking the entire weekend. "We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Waterz and Hvide Sande Surf Klub," emphasise the organisers. The fjord crossing is considered one of the highlights of the Danish SUP calendar and challenges participants with changing conditions on the open water.
The tour will conclude on 3 October 2026 with an event in Klintebjerg on Fyn. Here, the Klintebjerg SUP Club will lead the participants through the Odense Fjord. An intensive long-distance loop race is planned, in which the paddlers have to complete a set route several times. Klintebjerg, like Grenaa and Bornholm, is a first in the tour calendar and extends the geographical distribution of the events across the Danish territory. The Odense Fjord, with its sheltered location and scenic attractions, provides an attractive backdrop for the season finale. The local SUP club will contribute its local knowledge and design a challenging course that will demand everything from the participants at the end of the season.
