The Finals 2025 Dresden - with popular sports from basketball to athletics to triathlon - are expanding their programme to include a fascinating water sports discipline: stand-up paddling (SUP). The German SUP Championships will be held in Hafencity on 1 and 2 August 2025. The competitions promise pure excitement as the athletes compete against each other in parallel sprints over a distance of 160 metres.
The nomination list for the SUP competitions reads like a Who's Who of the German scene. The field of participants is made up of experienced athletes from renowned clubs and talented individual paddlers. Names such as Skadi Langbein, Hannah Leni Krah, Normen Weber, Ole Schwarz and several other well-known paddlers have been enriching the German SUP elite scene for years. A total of eight athletes will be competing in each of the SUP competitions, travelling from different regions of Germany and bringing different paddling backgrounds with them. The parallel sprints promise thrilling duels at eye level. The direct competition and the short distance of 160 metres guarantee excitement and action right up to the finish line. This format offers ideal conditions for spectators, as they can keep an eye on the entire course of the race and cheer it on.
