Headwinds or currents can make a SUP tour noticeably more difficult. A fin with an electric motor such as the new Jaykay E-Finn 2.0 can then provide effective support. The latest version even comes with reverse gear.

Following the launch in 2022, the version Jaykay E-Finn 2.0 available. This further development offers numerous new functions, including three operating modes for travelling forwards and backwards: "Paddle" mode conserves energy while on the move. In "Cruise" mode, you can drift along at a relaxed pace thanks to the integrated cruise control. The "Drive" mode makes it easier to manoeuvre the board, especially when parking. In heavy water traffic, the brake function ensures safe manoeuvring.

More range with optional spare battery

The new remote control with intuitive HD display and integrated paddle stroke counter ensures the best connection to the fin, even in deep water. Thanks to the modular design, the motor, propeller and - new - the lithium battery can be easily replaced without having to change the entire fin. This makes the system particularly flexible and sustainable. With an additional battery in your luggage, you can extend your tour on the water even further. As with the previous model, all technical components such as electronics and batteries are integrated directly into the fin as an all-in-one design.

The new functions of the Jaykay E-Finn 2.0 at a glance:

  • Reverse gear for safe manoeuvring
  • Replaceable lithium battery for sustainable operation
  • Remote control with HD display and integrated paddle stroke counter
  • 360 watts of power for optimum support

The materials engineering graduate worked as a surf instructor on the Ijsselmeer during his studies and competed for several seasons for the Essen sailing team in the Surfbundesliga and the Funboard Cup. He completed a traineeship at surf-Magazin in the test department and since then has actively accompanied almost all tests on the boom and for more than 10 years also as a photographer. Stephan has covered many thousands of test kilometers, mainly on Lake Garda and in Langebaan, but also in Egypt and Tobago. He gets his hands on over 100 new sails and boards every year as his company car. Privately, he prefers to surf with a foil on Lake Walchensee or “unfortunately far too rarely” in the waves. SUP is Stephan's second passion, which he pursued for several years at numerous SUP races. Today, he prefers to paddle on river tours with family or friends - even for several days.
