The "hybrid" is supposed to work on the lake and also in smaller waves - that makes you curious.

The "surf shape" of the laminated hard board with its narrow tail, thin edges and nicely curved nose should perform significantly better on smaller waves or swells than an iSUP or classic touring board. At least we have already been able to test it on the lake. There it runs faster and more smoothly than an inflatable touring all-round board. The trick: A slightly rounded keel can be seen under the bow, which utilises the waterline to the maximum - which ensures good hull speed - as well as good directional stability. In turns, the narrow, thin board can easily be pushed back into the water, yet it doesn't feel particularly tippy when paddling. You just shouldn't be too heavy. The board is very thin and at a test weight of 80 kilos, we were already close to the water surface, but definitely still in the "green zone".

ConclusionVersatile and especially attractive for lighter paddlers.
