Product of the week: Paddleboard 12'8'' Touring - limited edition in test

With the alternative 12'8" length the paddleboard brand is saying goodbye to the one-board policy, at least temporarily. With this additional shape - one foot longer than the previous universal tool - even more consideration is given to the needs of heavier paddlers and the demands of longer tours. Designer Christoph Krahe was so impressed by the board, which was originally planned as a small experiment (based on suggestions from his paddle board friends), that he has launched a limited series.

What is on the paddle board 12'8'' Touring different?

What has remained the particularly solid, stiff feel of a board that is always in the water with its full length in flat water and thus provides maximum hull speed at all times. Thanks to the longer length, the board offers more speed than the previous 11'8'' and therefore potentially more "range" on the tour.

What has remained the somewhat purist design, which has found its fan base, and the complete equipment. The Touring 12'8" x 31" combines very good tipping stability with a fluid, fast paddling experience. In turns (photo above), the wide stern offers plenty of support, while the narrow bow with its beautifully rounded underside ensures a sporty feeling and fast touring speed when travelling straight ahead. The finish is clean and solid, a nice feature is the two-part fin box for easier rolling up of the board when packing.
