The Fanatic Diamon Air Pocket was already the lightest board in its group in our magazine test - still in pre-series construction - at 8.3 kilos. For the final series construction, Fanatic has gone one better - or just not. The board in this presentation weighssuper light 6.5 kilos (with air, without fins). At Lake Garda, we wanted to check whether there were any major differences in riding behaviour in terms of stiffness compared to the preliminary version.
In short:The board is stiff and solid in the water. - under the feet of our SUP tester as well as under a whopping 80 kilos of tester weight. Even with full paddle pressure, six inches of board thickness at 15 psi pressure ensure a sporty, stiff feel even in wavy conditions. Due to the low weight, the board feels a little more wobbly than is perhaps usual for a 31 inch board,It accelerates extremely quickly and with extreme ease.
The complete test of our first practical test in March can be found below, it is an excerpt from the current SUP magazine, except for the features we have now really tested.super light weight - which particularly impressed our tester when she wore itnothing to add.

The exceptionally light board comes out of the smallest pack sack and - purely by chance, of course - matches the Fanatic ladies' paddle perfectly.
The test board was not yet in its final series construction, which is said to weigh only 6.8 kilos! We will test this and present all the differences on sup-mag.de). The board accelerates very well, feels like it floats high on the water and therefore seems a little more wobbly than the JP in wavy conditions and significantly more agile than the Red Paddle or GTS. Especially in the "pivot turn", when you go far back, the lightweight board turns at lightning speed, but is also not mega-stable in the water. The load capacity is surprisingly high, even with 80 kilos you can stand high and dry, the slightly curved bow goes quickly over any waves. However, more frequent side changes are required, as the two very small fins do not track quite as accurately as a large single fin. Conclusion: A sporty lightweight with great handling on land and on the water. For the advanced paddler."
