Fanaticoffers a standard paddle from 130 to 170 centimetres for children for 69 euros, which we have already seen in a similar form from other brands (Naish, RRD). The paddle is extremely robust, the adjustment mechanism is solid and you can even build a sandcastle with the robust blade. The blade size is suitable for children between the ages of 7 and 12. The tube has a standard diameter and is correspondingly heavy, the weight of 800 grams cannot be argued away. Who is it suitable for? Probably primarily for families who see a SUP as fun equipment and not for longer tours or races. The paddle should last a long time and the resale value should be similar to that of children's bikes or children's sails, even after a few years. It is definitely better for children than an adult paddle that is too long.

Croslakealso focuses on lightweight paddles for children and at a still acceptable price of 149 euros, in our opinion. That's no longer cheap, but the paddle is nice and light in the hand (manufacturer's specification 490 grams, unfortunately we couldn't weigh it) and the blade size is perfect for taller kids. The adjustment mechanism is infinitely variable from 134 to 200 centimetres, so the paddle grows with your child. Who is it suitable for? A paddle for more committed paddling families looking for a good price/weight compromise.

Quickbladeoffers a real highlight with the Micro Fly (151 to 172 centimetres long). If you regularly go on longer trips with kids, you can really offer them something, but the price is hefty and it remains to be seen whether you will find parents who appreciate it on the second-hand market. At just 320 grams (significantly less than half the weight of a standard aluminium paddle), the paddle is incredibly light and the shaft may look very delicate in men's hands, but it fits children's paws proportionally perfectly. The full-carbon version is certainly not suitable for hammering in hardening rings, but at this price you can certainly save another 5 euros for the rubber mallet. The paddle looks like the €500 Quickblade racing paddles and paddles just as well in children's hands. The adjustment mechanism with two push buttons works very well, the handle cannot twist and the buttons are pleasantly rounded. Warning: If you hand this paddle to a child, it will be difficult to return to the aluminium standard! Who is it suitable for? Certainly more for the kids of really SUP-inclined parents who can afford the best paddle themselves. For longer tours or children who are already committed to taking part in kids' races.
