Berlin on Air - with the iSUP through the capital
Unfinished, pompous, unique and world-famous - welcome to the capital. Paulina Herpel, Phine Scheibe, Kai Nikolas Steimer and Klaas Voget paddle the big B on the Spree.

"Sorry, this is the end!" "No more?" "Yes, you're not allowed to paddle here unless you have a radio and a motor on board!" Well, the rules are strict on Angie's doorstep. Especially when there are high-ranking visitors from Israel. Patrick, our local, had already warned us.

"So if you want to go through the government district, you have to get up really early!" 9 o'clock is probably not early enough. But: "Det Kind wer'n wa schon schaukeln", as the Berliners say. We turn round and paddle towards the Victory Column. Slowly, life begins to stir around us and the first tourists crowd the shore. It's quite something to simply paddle through this huge city, relaxed and far away from the hustle and bustle. Even if you can't hear it anymore. Berlin is hip. At least around the world. If you don't believe it, just go ashore in front of Berlin Cathedral like we did and buy yourself a few wraps. Tourists from all over the world within a 100 metre walk. After a little refreshment, we really need to cool down before we take the underground towards the Technik Museum.

As true water sports enthusiasts, we have only one choice: the Neptune fountain. And at least the gods seem to favour Kai. They give him a magnificent tube in the shadow of the television tower. It's not just the four light-skinned ladies at the edge of the fountain who look on in amazement.

After cooling off, we take a quick look at the web spider and continue southwards on the BVG to Kreuzberg. The Oberbaum Bridge and the Molecule Man figures are an absolute must on our water-based tourist programme. "Where do you get into the water here? There's an entrance back here!" It's not always easy to board the Spree. We climb down a small ladder right next to the bathing boat. Crazy view of the city from here. Awww, you rarely get as close as we do to the 30 metre high, perforated figures. The sun slowly sinks over the city.

Just the right time to stop off for a drink at the Club der Visionäre. Berlin will be back. There's a lot more to see. It was fun with you.
