Bike'n SUP - in search of new challenges
The "Amphibian Roadtrain" was on the road again...using only muscle power, without petrol and without electricity...

Who is new in Munichis usually thrilled by the amazing leisure opportunities in the immediate vicinity: several lakes, the mountains within easy reach, cycling in all directions. But as a native of Munich who doesn't want to use the car at every opportunity to get stuck in a traffic jam on the Salzburg motorway with other recreation-seekers, you eventually get bored of the standard off-road routes: Perlacher Forst, Olympiastrasse to Starnberg, Isarradweg to Wolfratshausen, to name just a few.

So we set out in search of new challenges. and the combination of our favourite sports. The result is really challenging tours that are literally on your own doorstep and can push you to your physical limits, depending on the conditions.

Last weekend we did it again: cycling from the centre of Munich to Starnberg with our bikes and SUP trailers, then onto the water with all our equipment and paddling for 5 1/2 hours to Seeshaupt in a strong headwind from the south-west - the paddle always on the left because of the wind! Afterwards, quite exhausted, we cycled the last stage through the hilly blue countryside to Staffelsee and camped on the island of Buchau.

That's all you needto push yourself to your limits, take in wonderful impressions, relax completely without a car and, last but not least, meet lots of nice people who accompany our amphibious road train with wide-eyed amazement :-)
