His next planned tour is over 500 kilometres from Big Island to Kauai, Hawaii. He wants to complete it in four to five days. Anyone who knows the Hawaiian Islands, the currents and the waves will know what an undertaking this is. Bart de Zwart is a circumnavigator and SUP pro and has won the toughest marathon SUP race (11-City-Tour: approx. 220 kilometres in five days through Dutch canals and lakes) - a true adventurer.
Germany may not be Hawaii, but it also offers extreme tours (you could paddle to the East Frisian Islands, for example, why not?). But a leisurely tour on an Upper Bavarian lake also has its charm. And if you don't live in the mountains, you can plan a cultural excursion with new perspectives. Germany's two largest metropolises are true water paradises. With the SUP board, you can make many a new discovery or make plans. How about a protest action on a stand-up board in front of the Chancellery. Or sightseeing through Hamburg city centre with fries and ice cream right on the water. There are no limits to SUP. Any slightly larger body of water, whether lake, river or canal, is suitable for paddling tours. We have selected two easy city tours as well as five varied pleasure tours in the Bavarian mountains.
For the more ambitious, we suggest two professional trips: The circumnavigation of Fehmarn in the north and a crossing of Lake Constance in the south. The planning can vary from person to person. Priority is always given to proper preparation. For your next 500-kilometre tour, Hawaiian-by-choice Bart de Zwart can help you with a few valuable tour tips.
