This impression is also confirmed when paddling. The Shark is very stiff - and also stable against tipping. Compared to a Naish One, which is also 30 inches wide, it appears more moderate, more orientated towards being suitable for touring than for the very committed sports paddler. The unusually coloured deck is non-slip without any coarse structures, and there is a wedge-shaped padding at the rear end where you can securely support your foot during very tight turns - but this is more for advanced riders. The three-fin concept is unusual. The centre fin sits in the practical sliding box, two short outer fins are firmly glued in place. This reduces the top speed somewhat, but offers good opportunities to tune the board with a short centre fin for flat running water.
PLUS Stiff; stable, stable; large net, spare fin and luxury bag; priceMINUS Less for very sporty paddling
ConclusionA very affordable board that cuts a fine figure on tour or as an all-rounder for the whole family.
