The Custom Pro surf shoe from Solite can be customised with hot water. But does it also keep your feet hot in winter? We put it to the test.

Hot water can be used to Solite Custom Pro customise. Simply pour in hot water, allow to soak well, rinse briefly in cold water and then put into the warm shoe. After a few minutes, the material will have cooled down and moulded to the shape of your foot. This works well if you buy the shoe half a size too small; it is advisable to try them on in the shop. The features are great - a solid sole, cosy plush on the inside and absolutely tight seams make the surf shoe look very high quality. If it gets really cold, you should wear the thermal socks supplied - or choose a boot one size thicker (available up to eight millimetres thick).
