Toeside jumping - the freestyle basics of wingfoiling in the video

The toeside jump is the basis for many freestyle tricks when wingfoiling. You can find the most important key points of this jump in this clip.

In contrast to normal jumping ( HERE there's a great tutorial), the term "toeside" refers to the jump from the switch stance position. Apart from the foot position, the other sticking points are comparable to those for normal jumps:

  • Get speed
  • Initiate take-off by pressing on the tail
  • Compact body posture in the flight phase

So if you can ride safely in the switch stance position in the loops and have already mastered normal jumps, you can start with the "toeside jump".
