Back riding, also known as "leeride", is a wingsurfing trick that requires a lot of feeling for the wing. You can find out what's important here.

If you are already confident with wingfoiling Jibe or Turnaround around the corner, it's time to look for new challenges. One of the first freestyle tricks is riding backwards - in English, this is referred to as either "leeride" or "riding backwinded". In contrast to the normal riding position, the rider is not on the windward side of the wing but on the leeward side. Instead of controlling the pull of the wing, the wing pushes against the surfer when riding backwards.

In this short clip from the Duotone Wing Academy, you can find out how to get into this riding position and what you need to bear in mind when controlling the wing.
