New transport option for panel vans: Pushrack presents a surfboard carrier for rear transport. The system is designed to be compatible with many base rails.

The German manufacturer Push has developed a surfboard carrier for its modular "PUSHrack" system. Special modules are attached to a basic system of rails. By placing the boards on the rear door, they can be transported without having to climb onto the roof or blocking space in the interior. According to the manufacturer, the board carrier can hold up to three boards and is suitable for different sizes and outlines thanks to the pocket-like design of the lower holder. At the top, the boards are then lashed to the support surfaces using a strap system, which should also be possible without a second person.

According to Push, a technical felt is used on the contact surfaces, as is also used in car washes. "The material is characterised by its gentle properties towards sensitive surfaces," the manufacturer promises in a press release. Production surpluses from other areas are reused in an environmentally friendly way.

Modular system integration

The surfboard carrier is designed as a modular extension and is compatible with existing pushrack systems, for example for bicycles. It is installed on standard mounting rails from Airline, Thule or Fiamma. Push itself also offers basic rails, but these must be attached to the rear doors by drilling holes. In addition to surfboards, the system is also suitable for other water sports equipment such as e-foil boards or kayaks, according to the manufacturer.

A lockable securing system for the boards is also available as an accessory, as well as options for transport boxes, e-scooters and other equipment. The manufacturer emphasises that the attachment is also suitable for off-road use. There are also nice camping gimmicks such as the bin bag holder with bottle opener.
