Fitness tips from Sascha Lange:

What is it about and how is it structured?

The book is a fitness book for windsurfers. Every aspect is addressed and worked on. Be it mobility, endurance, longevity in windsurfing, recovery, strength building, etc. With the help of exercise sequences, the reader can address and then work on their areas of need. In the last real working chapter, you learn how to create your own training plan.

What drove you to take on this project?

I turned 40 last year in November and am fitter than ever for windsurfing. When a friend (Sebastian, who created the design) wrote a book myself, the idea came to me because I wanted to share my knowledge. A book always seemed very powerful and big to me. I came up with the title without giving it much thought and the introduction came quickly. From then on, I was passionate about the project. And for me, holding a physical book in my hands is something for eternity. It still feels surreal sometimes.

How intensive was the creative process? What was more difficult and what was easier than expected?

Very intensive. In addition to all my personal training sessions, I spent every spare minute on the book. To be honest, the family also came up way too short. Designing, typesetting and correcting a book yourself not only takes time, but also nerves. Especially when everything was ready and I had to wait for the test print from the printers, for example, that cost me nerves. After all, I had well over 100 pre-orders. That's a lot of pressure for me. People put their trust in me and I couldn't act as I would have liked. Once the test print was there, I spent very long nights working on everything. It was surprisingly easy to collect the more than 50 professional tips from the best windsurfers in the world who contributed to this book. It seemed like a book like this was long overdue.

Do you have a favourite chapter or passage?

The whole book is my baby. I really love every chapter. Every reader will find different things important. But one thing is for sure: everyone will benefit from this book, whether beginner or pro. Nevertheless, the beginning and the end mean a lot to me, as there are a lot of emotions involved.
