Readers' tip: Rig the sail gently
Who hasn't experienced the problem of the monofilm getting sharp creases every time the mast is pulled out during rigging? Especially with large sails with narrow mast pockets, it is almost impossible to prevent the sail from kinking if you don't have someone at hand to hold the top to pull out the mast. Here is my tip:

Unfortunately, every kink in the monofilm is also a weak point in the sail where cracks can occur sooner or later. In the worst-case scenario, you hit such a kink in a crash and the sail tears. It therefore makes sense to pull a rope through the top of the sails and tie it to a small loop to which you can attach the sail (e.g. to the car's towbar). Then all you have to do is grab the bottom of the mast and simply pull it out. This allows you to unhook the sail without kinking, even without help. This protects the monofilm and increases the service life of the sails.
