Where is the best place to find used sails or masts? In our digital world, many people probably try online first. But it's definitely worth taking a look in a surf shop when buying second-hand.

Used equipment at surf shops

Even though you will find a larger range of used sails and masts on the usual online portals, it is definitely worth taking a look at the surf shops. Some shops, such as Surfshop Fehmarn, take used equipment in trade and sell it on in the shop: "We sell 350 to 400 used sails every year," Bastian Wiepcke from Surfshop Fehmarn tells us. "Anyone looking for professional advice when buying used equipment and who also doesn't want to stress about things like payment or shipping from or to private individuals is in good hands when buying used equipment in the shop," he emphasises. On www.surfshopfehmarn.de/reduziert you can get an overview of the current range.

Classified adverts on surf-magazin.de

You can also offer used equipment on the surf website or browse through the adverts. In our classifieds section you will not only find used windsurfing equipment, but also second-hand equipment for wingfoiling, SUPing, surfing and much more! Together with our partner surfsport.de, we integrated this platform into our offer a few weeks ago. And if you place an advert yourself, you can place it in the printed surf magazine with just one click!

Daily Dose

Jürgen Schall, on the other hand, is the operator of the online magazine dailydose.com. This also includes Private Ads, one of the largest online second-hand exchanges for windsurfing equipment: "As with all second-hand purchases on the Internet, the maxim always applies: bought as seen. If there is ever a dispute about the condition or payment, we mediate - but disputes are rare," reports Jürgen.

Facebook

If you shop in the shop or on the usual online portals such as surf.sellandbuy.online, Ebay Classifieds or surfsport.com If you can't find what you're looking for, don't forget to check the widespread Facebook groups: Via groups such as Surf equipment, Surfing equipment for kids and the Surfer classifieds or Kite- and windsurf used market you can also find good material.

Notices and flea markets

Even in the digital age, posters at surf spots, campsites, on campervans and vans or similar are still attractive. At the beginning of the season, there are also surf flea markets from time to time. The advantage of this is that you can speak directly to the seller, inspect the equipment and possibly even test ride it. At the same time, there are no shipping or travelling costs, as you are there anyway. However, you do of course need a bit of luck that the exact item you need is being sold by someone else.
