Storing material safely on the beach
Here you can find out how to store your equipment on the shore in any wind force so that it is still in place after the lunch break and doesn't leave a trail of destruction on the neighbouring beach.

A sail is built to catch the wind, whether on the water or on land. To prevent it from flying away, it must be set down at the right angle to the wind.

To prevent your rig from becoming an uncontrolled flying object on the beach, you need to put it down in such a way that the wind has no surface to attack. In this example, the wind is coming from the right and the board and rig are tucked together. The board lies with its top side facing downwind, the sail in such a way that the wind can neither reach under the luff nor under the foot, but simply blows over it.

If you are on a sandy beach, you can also lay your board upside down if you want to put it down safely with the rig. In doing so, you press the fin deep into the sand, so your equipment is additionally secured. Otherwise, everything remains the same as in variant 1.

ATTENTION: A sail should never be put down unsecured, even if you are only picking up the board. A swirling rig is a danger to everyone and everything. Therefore, always bring the board to the beach first, then pick up the sail.
