40 years of Windsurfing Rhein Main
40 years ago, Horst Karrer left his job at a PR agency and tried to set up his own windsurfing shop. He then became involved with the Internet at an early stage and set up a sales organisation here too.

There is now a very good online shop (windsurf.de), which is a European leader in windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP (stand up paddling), wakeboarding, surfing and, in winter, snowboarding. Sales are at a level that already exceeds the sales in the shop.

At Windsurfing Rhein Main, it is particularly important that specialists are available for a personal meeting or telephone call, who are very familiar with your products and can provide the best possible advice in every case. Of course, the employees practise the sports themselves and are always up to date.

In 2014, Windsurfing Rhein Main will be organising various events for its customers and friends in its anniversary year.

Most of the employees have been with the company for a long time. The second managing director, Rainer Schattauer-Zöllner, has been working in the industry for almost 20 years. Robin Kassel heads up the kiteboarding department and, with the help of various freelancers, is actively developing a comprehensive SUP (stand up paddling) programme at various locations on the Main. Chris Dorda is the wakeboard specialist, who of course also kitesurfs and snowboards.

The newest member of the team is Florentine Karrer (22), who joined the business after completing her studies in international business administration with a specialisation in finance and plans to take over in the foreseeable future. She is already a kite instructor and of course also actively practises all other sports.

So Windsurfing Rhein Main goes on and on and SURF Magazine congratulates Horst Karrer, a veteran of the surfing industry, on his life's work.
