A letter to Robby Naish
A letter to Robby Naish
Letters reveal a lot about people. And when you read the lines that Robby Naish and Kai Lenny exchanged over ten years ago, you can understand what makes Robby Naish tick and why he is still revered by so many today...

When Kai Lenny was ten years old, he wrote a letter to Robby Naish asking him for sponsorship and to join the Naish team. He did this in a way that only children can do, free-spirited and without giving it much thought. In the end he signed his name, quite immodestly, as "Kai Waterman Lenny". Robby's reply was not long in coming. However, Robby made it clear right from the start what he thought was most important in the life of a ten-year-old: School.

You can find the full article and everything about the background to the letters in the May issue of surf magazine.
