In co-operation with the DSV, Delius Klasing-Verlag is publishing a new textbook for windsurfing beginners. The focus is on preparing for the basic windsurfing licence exam.

"Windsurfing for beginners" is the title of a new book published by Delius Klasing. Author Marcel Lamers pools his decades of experience as a windsurfing instructor trainer in the German Sailing Association and explains everything newcomers need to know when taking the basic windsurfing licence. Over two hundred explanatory pictures support the understanding of the procedures, and the textbook also contains sample questions for the basic licence exam, which can be taken in DSV surf clubs and associations.

The book is divided into several chapters that systematically accompany the learning process. Beginners will find basic information on equipment and preparation, while the descriptions of techniques range from initial riding techniques to manoeuvres such as the basic jibe and riding downwind. Lamers emphasises simple explanations that make complex movement sequences understandable. Safety, right of way rules and topics such as nature conservation are also covered.

The textbook serves as a basic aid for practical training. The content is based on the requirements of the DSV basic licence examination. The sample questions at the end of the book enable targeted preparation for the theoretical examination.
