From 21 to 29 January, boot Düsseldorf will be celebrating its comeback after a two-year pandemic break and we surfers will find a new home in Hall 17 with lots of action, show and innovations.

In Hall 17, surfing and all its facets will be in the spotlight. In addition to windsurfing, kitesurfing and SUP, the main focus is on the current wingfoil trend. The XXL pool is the new surfing action centre, which has been given even more depth. Over the nine days of the trade fair, 34 wind machines will ensure that the best wingfoilers in the world can demonstrate their spectacular skills in Düsseldorf. The pool will thus become the water stage for the current number one trend in water sports.

Of course, the classic windsurfing, SUP and kitesurfing themes will also be comprehensively represented with their product presentations, new boards, sails, kites, equipment and accessories. Shows, award ceremonies and interviews with the stars and starlets of the scene will ensure a cool and dynamic stage programme at boot 2023.

Doing is like wanting - only more blatant

boot offers a special treat for all those who want to take the plunge on a foil: The Association of German Watersport Schools (VDWS) awaits newcomers at its popular Surf Academy on the wingsurf simulator. Here, the curious can take the wing into their own hands and learn how to steer on a moving board.

The top programmes offered by the world's largest water sports school association also include the popular beginner seminars. These include training sessions on the windsurfing simulator on the subject of riding loops and harnesses and sessions on the kite simulator, which allows young and old alike to overcome gravity for a brief moment - and pull themselves and their boards up into the air. You can register for this directly at the VDWS stand. In addition, the VDWS will be presenting customised offers for surfing trips in Germany and abroad together with selected schools at boot.

surf is available for advice and a chat

The centrepiece of the trade fair will of course be the numerous manufacturers presenting their new boards, sails and accessories to the surfing public for the first time. But before you make a purchase from one of the retailers, who will have a bargain or two in store, you can of course get independent advice at the surf magazine stand - and we will also be happy to receive feedback on the magazine in person. Our stand (C29) can be found in the centre of Hall 17! Come by, we look forward to seeing you!

Trade fair boss Wolfram Diener is confidentthat - in contrast to recent years - all planned trade fairs can take place in Düsseldorf. "We are ideally equipped both for energy bottlenecks and against the spread of viruses in the halls. Our exhibition halls are equipped with the latest high-performance particle filters, so-called hepa filters, which eliminate 99.9 per cent of viruses from the air and the energy supply is also completely safe. As usual, the temperature in the halls will be 19 degrees throughout," says Diener.
