California Windsurf Cup: Boot Düsseldorf supports DWC youngsters with entry fees

The boot Düsseldorf cashback campaign aims to motivate young windsurfers to enter the regatta scene. That's why boot will also cover the entry fees for all Youth U21 riders in the California Windsurf Cup in the coming season - as is known, the DWC will run under this title from 2024

The support can be an additional motivation for the next generation to take the plunge and enter the California Windsurf Cup. It certainly shows that Messe Düsseldorf cares about young talent. We would like to thank boot Düsseldorf for its outstanding commitment to the youth sector," says Matthias Regber from Choppy Water GmbH, which organises the California Windsurf Cup.
"Taking part in the California Windsurf Cup is the dream of many windsurfing youngsters. But the financial hurdles are too high for many. By reimbursing the entry fees, boot Düsseldorf is making a contribution to rejuvenating the sport of regattas and directly supporting young people. Every bit of help is valuable for young regatta talents, especially when they are just starting out," says boot Director Petros Michelidakis.
The total funding volume is limited to 3,000 euros. The funding will be allocated after the entries have been received. The reimbursement will be paid out to the young sailors in cash directly on site when they register for the regattas.
The dates of the German Windsurf Cup 2024
Five dates are on the DWC tour calendar for 2024:
- 18 - 24 May: Summer Opening Sylt
- 28 - 30 June: Windsurf Cup Pelzerhaken
- 11 - 14 July: Windsurf Cup St. Peter-Ording
- 23 - 28 July: Windsurf Cup Sylt
- 29 August - 1 September: Windsurf Cup Heiligenhafen

In addition to the DWC events, this year there will also be the new ProAm Windsurf Cups (professionals and amateurs) additional entry-level regattas for hobby windsurfers and amateurs to pave the way to regatta sport. The spots include Surendorf on the Bay of Eckernförde, Strande near Kiel and Lake Wittensee, and a ProAm event is also planned for Lake Garda.
