The Vincent Langer Kids Camp took place at the Baltic Sea resort of Kellenhusen for the first time. It soon became clear that this was not necessarily a disadvantage - almost 100 kids took part.

The 15th edition of the Vincent Langer Kids Camp attracted a record number of participants and was the biggest event of its kind to date. With 17 coaches, two boats and participants aged between seven and 18, there was surfing, splashing and playing - all under the watchful eye of organiser Vincent.

In order to do justice to every child, the almost 100 participants were divided into groups after the first day and a "sight surfing" session. From then on, each group had a permanent coach who led the group throughout the week and was available as a contact person. The group size was based on age and ability. Vincent explains: "While it's almost 1:1 coaching for the beginners with no previous experience, the regatta group with 12 youngsters is a little different, as starts, races and explicit race content are already covered there. The new concept of integrating ten complete beginners also worked well. Major topics such as sailing and board theory are covered as a whole group. Explicit topics are then dealt with in the respective groups. For the first time, there was a wave group led by Sebi Beil. There, for example, the front loop was practised. Freestyle was taught by freestyle ace Lars Bubelach and supported by Mats von Holten. The race group was led by experienced DWC pilot and top racer Leo Richter and Erik Wehkamp. This ensures that absolute experts can pass on their knowledge. Among other things, all coaches have regatta experience, were in national squads and are still active at events. You won't find more coaching expertise anywhere else"says Vincent.

The Kellenhusen beach turned out to be a good choice after the move from Grönwohld - the beginners practised in the small standing area at the front, while the action and tricks took place further out. The highlight was once again the big Kids Camp Regatta. The professional category, in which a large course was run, was won by Paul Regber. For the fin riders and intermediates, there was a smaller course with a buoy just a few metres from the standing area. A "mini course" was then set up for the beginners and "minis", where even the 7-year-olds had fun. Another highlight was the big prize draw, in which a Duotone foil board was raffled off among all participants.

Organiser Vincent Langer was correspondingly pleased afterwards: "A big thank you goes to Duotone, who travelled with 40 rigs and 25 boards and gave the kids the opportunity to always use the ideal equipment."

There will be another Vincent Langer Kids Camp in Kellenhusen next year. The date will be announced on Vincent's Website published.
