For this year's special edition for surf subscribers, we spoke to many fascinating personalities from the world of windsurfing. From pros and station operators to photographers, filmmakers and illustrators - you can expect exciting conversations! There is also a spectacular crash gallery! This is what awaits you in the magazine, so you can order the special edition!

Actions speak louder than words - a saying that is often used when it comes to honouring an achievement and not blah blah blah in front of a microphone. But in the surf special edition, people who have something to say and whose extraordinary achievements are beyond doubt have their say. A perfect combination.

We start with John Carter - JC, as he likes to be called. When it comes to windsurfing photography, there's no getting round the Brit. Everyone recognises his copyright notice on countless photos, be it from the World Cup, personality stories or travel stories. But who is the man behind the camera really? A woman, who is otherwise often the subject of JC's camera, investigates this question: Sarah-Quita Offringa.

The two heads behind the media agency Big Sexy Pictures are also very much behind the camera. But Jobst von Paepcke and Florian Gebbert are not only responsible for the Red Bull Storm Chase, but also for authentic surf films with cult character. In this interview, they look back on 25 wild years of BSP history.

Lina Erpenstein was only just born when BSP was founded, but the medical student, World Cup rider and DJane has already achieved a lot and has a lot to say - and she does so unfiltered in conversation.

Bouwmeester, Brandner and Förth - windsurfing legends for decades

Michiel Bouwmeester, who has turned thousands of windsurfing beginners into passionate funboarders with his ideas and methods, also has a lot to tell. The native Dutchman pulls a few crazy stories out of the drawer for us and looks to the future with motivation.

Bernhard Förth and Tommy Brandner have been part of surf magazine for almost 40 years. Their cartoons and commentaries have made a significant contribution to us windsurfers perhaps not taking ourselves quite so seriously. We present their wildest works once again.

Ricardo Campello seems to be an unfinished work in progress. His hunt for the world title enters a new round, and in this interview he tries to explain why it just won't work.

Voting for the best surf cover of the year

As an encore, you can give free rein to your schadenfreude at the crashes of the professionals in the Crash Gallery, and at the Choice of the cover of the year you have the chance to win a great Chris Benz Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge watch.

Subscribers should have received the surf special issue at home these days! It is also available in the Delius Klasing kiosk for subscribers after login
