The Windsurfing Hall of Fame has new members: Josh Angulo, Josh Stone, Keith Teboul and the photographer duo Sofie Louca and Paul Karaolides alias Fish Bowl Diaries were honoured as the "Class of 2025".

The Windsurfing Hall of Fame has selected its new members from numerous nominations: In autumn 2025, every windsurfing fan worldwide was able to nominate their favourites for induction into the Hall of Fame by email (hence "Class of 2025"), after which a jury and the legends already inducted into the WHOF voted on the new honourees.

In the "Rider's Hall", Josh Stone and Josh Angulo, two absolutely formative riders of the past 30 years, have been honoured. Stone, a crowd favourite, figurehead of the sport and freestyle pioneer, has pushed and embodied windsurfing immensely. As a living legend, Angulo has influenced an entire generation of riders with his style and played a key role in making Cape Verde one of the most famous spots in the world today. Julie de Werd, who was one of the best women in windsurfing in the 1980s, was also posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame. There is also Mike Gebhardt, Olympic windsurfer from the USA.

Developer and promoter in the Windsurfing Hall of Fame

Keith Teboul was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the "Craftsmen" category as a particularly influential developer. The shaper was part of the "young savages" in the nineties and co-founder of Quatro, today he is considered one of the most innovative shapers across all board sports.

Fish Bowl Diaries was honoured this year in the "Media" category, in which long-time surf editor-in-chief Andreas Erbe has already been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The photographer duo consisting of Sofie Louca (land shots) and Paul Karaolides (water photographer) have been bringing the most breathtaking images from Maui and from many WWT wave contests to the world for many years. Legendary photographer Alex Williams was also honoured in the Hall of Fame, as was Jonathan Weston, not only a pioneer of windsurf photography, but also the founder and long-time mastermind behind the current Hall of Fame. The "pioneers and promoters" are joined by Glenn Taylor, who wrote a textbook in the early days of windsurfing and had a huge influence on the scene around San Francisco.

The current Hall of Fame has been in existence since 2021 and honours deserving personalities in the sport every year. In addition to legends such as Robby Naish, Björn Dunkerbeck and many others, the achievements of photographers, journalists, inventors and developers as well as important people for the public image are also honoured.

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
