Surf & Action's Caribbean Learnnival enters the next round at the end of February. On Tobago, windsurfers of all levels can expect a comprehensive training programme with ideal conditions in a flat, shallow area with a constant 4-5 Beaufort.

It's that time of year again in mid-February: the successful Caribbean Learnnival organised by Surf & Action in Tobago is starting its next round. Caribbean flair, warm water and reliable wind in the middle of winter! The event offers 3-4 hours of professional windsurfing instruction every day over six days and is aimed at participants of all skill levels. The event starts on 24 February 2026 and lasts one week. An extra week is recommended to make the nine-hour flight worthwhile.

Tobago is one of the best learning areas in the world and offers ideal conditions for rapid progress with its shallow, standing and visibility-deep water. The constant wind forces of 4 to 5 Beaufort and the expertise of the experienced team of instructors ensure optimal learning conditions. If you want to escape the grey, cold winter, you will find tropical warm water and dreamlike water colours at Tobago's famous Pigeon Point - for many years the spot for the Surf tests in the freeride and freerace sectors!

Tobago offers perfect conditions for every level

The Caribbean Learnnival is designed so that windsurfers of all levels can benefit from it. Beginners will find ideal conditions in the flat, shallow waters to learn the basics of windsurfing. Advanced windsurfers can refine their technique and practise new manoeuvres under the watchful eye of the instructors. The daily training sessions of 3-4 hours offer enough time to train intensively without overtaxing yourself. The constant wind conditions ensure reliable training opportunities, while the warm water allows for long sessions without a wetsuit. The experienced team of trainers will provide personalised tips and tricks tailored to the personal needs and goals of each participant.

Away from the water, the Caribbean Learnival offers a varied supporting programme that leaves nothing to be desired. Participants can experience a real Robinson Crusoe feeling, relax in hammocks or visit the famous Sunday School - a local party tradition that conveys authentic Caribbean flair. Tobago's exotic landscapes invite you to explore and offer an impressive backdrop for nature lovers. In addition to windsurfing, there are numerous other activities on offer: surfing, diving and golf are just some of the options the island has to offer.

Accommodation options for every taste

There are various options available for accommodation during the Caribbean Learning Festival to suit different requirements and budgets. From inexpensive accommodation to comfortable mid-range hotels and super exclusive resorts, there is something for everyone. The Bananaquit Hotel, for example, scores points for its comfort and favourable location. The accommodation has been selected to guarantee a pleasant stay and at the same time provide a good starting point for daily activities. Depending on your personal preferences, you can choose between different room categories and catering options.
