Epic conditions, side-offshore, big waves, challenging, gritty and glorious all at the same time. I don't think I've swum this much in a long time. There are situations that you can't get out of, no matter how much talent you have, and you just have to take the knocks that come your way. But in between there were always magical moments, a few big, clean waves that you could edge the rail into and do a few turns, what fun!" writes the winner of the men's competition Phil Horrocks about the crazy contest.
