Antoine Martin and his spectacular aerial in the sequence

On the cover of the new surf issue, Antoine Martin jumps a magnificent aerial directly over the lens of photographer Cedric Bornadel. Here we show you the entire sequence of the cover shot!

Between two Canary Islands World Cups, Antoine Martin was lured back to the Indian Ocean this summer, to the place of his dreams, to which he is downright addicted: La Réunion. A series of breathtaking images were taken on the reefs of the French overseas department during the short trip, including the current surf cover (issue 11-12/2025, in stores from 28 October). You can click through the entire sequence of Martin's epic aerial about the cameraman named Cedric Bornadel above.

This was my fourth time in three summers on La Réunion, so I'm really addicted to this place.

Antoine Martin took some time off this summer to get used to his new equipment and clear his head between the many contests: "I've been coming to Reunion Island for a few years now - this was my fourth time in three summers, so I'm really addicted to this place. I told Thomas (Traversa, editor's note.), who had travelled there before. He motivated me to come along. I met a lot of nice people on the island and the waves are just so good that I actually want to spend every summer there. It wasn't like we had our own production team with us, so we had to adapt depending on who was available, but thanks to the support of the community it all worked out. We ended up capturing some great action moments and sharing the excitement."

The photo story about this sensational trip, in which Antoine Martin talks about the spot, his equipment, self-confidence and the connection to the locals, can be found in the current print issue (Nov.-Dec./2025).
