Défi Wind: Registration for Défi 2024 - licences with the GWA

More than 1000 windsurfers on the starting line, an incredible atmosphere and the toughest races for professionals and hobby surfers: the Défi Wind in Gruissan in the south of France is legendary! Registration is now open for 2024 and, as always, the date is the Ascension weekend from 9 to 12 May. Every participant needs a "licence" from their national class association. In Germany, this is the German Windsurfing Association (GWA).

"German windsurfers who would like to take part in the Défi Wind can contact the German Windsurfing Association (GWA) office as the national class association in the shortboard sector in order to obtain a corresponding licence for registration," explains the GWA, adding that the prerequisite is that you are a member of the GWA and have registered an official sail number with the GWA. "Anyone who does not yet fulfil this requirement but would like to take part in DEFI Wind can apply for admission and a sailing number without any red tape. These applications will be processed as quickly as possible," promises the association.
