EFPT Surf Opening Austria - the highlights of the second day

The second day of the EFPT Surf Opening at Lake Neusiedl was characterised by light winds, but also some great heats. The highlights of the second day can be seen here in the video.

Lake Neusiedl is always good for a surprise, and this time was no exception. Despite the summery weather, the wind at the EFPT Surf Opening was at least strong enough for the entire men's and women's single elimination and most of the doubles to take place.

Italian Jacopo Testa and Maaike Huvermann from the Netherlands won the single. Lisa Kloster from Kiel is in a great third place after the single, but still has to defend this in the second round - provided the wind returns. The men's podium is also yet to be decided. The podium is currently completed by Yentel Caers and Dieter van der Eyken.

Manuel Vogel, born in 1981, lives in Kiel and learned to windsurf at the age of six at his father's surf school. In 1997, he completed his training as a windsurfing instructor and worked for over 15 years as a windsurfing instructor in various centers, at Kiel University sports and in the coaching team of the “Young Guns” freestyle camps. He has been part of the surf test team since 2003. After completing his teaching degree in 2013, he followed his heart and started as editor of surf magazine for the test and riding technique sections. Since 2021, he has also been active in wingfoiling - mainly at his home spots on the Baltic Sea or in the waves of Denmark.
