It was time again at the beginning of August - the Girls Camp organised by 1001 Grad Events kicked off on the Baltic beach at Hemmelmark in Eckernförde Bay. For the first time, it was a joint event for the sports of windsurfing and wingfoiling. 23 women aged between 13 and 66 took part and were taught by four female coaches. Jelene Duwe and Jette Koep were responsible for the wingfoil group, while Lena Haverland and Lucy Schleicher passed on their expertise to the windsurfers: "The groups were almost the same size, but some participants also made use of the opportunity to do both sports"co-organiser Leon Delle explains the process.
The weather gods were particularly kind to the camp participants this time - after a joint breakfast and subsequent yoga session, they went out on the water in good wind conditions on all four days. Different groups were formed depending on their level of ability. APM Marketing, distributor of the Starboard, Severne, Airush and AK Durable Supply brands, supported the event with a contingent of equipment.
There was also plenty on offer away from the water - including shared meals on land and a movie night. There are plans to continue the event format in 2025 - we will keep you up to date as soon as dates are published. Further information can also be found on the organiser's website.
