The Racer of the Sea donates ten per cent of all starting and sponsorship income to the promotion of young talent and supports the PWA Youth World Cup in Klitmoller.

At the beginning of the year, the 1001grad Events team behind the regatta series Racer of the Sea (ROTS) has announced that it intends to invest ten per cent of all cash and sponsorship income in the promotion of young talent. From this Youth Promotion Fund the entry fees for the PWA Youth Slalom event from 20-25 September 2024 in Klitmoller are now to be sponsored.

"From the very beginning, our approach was to use our projects and events to make a contribution to promoting sport in general and young talent in particular. At the ROTS events, there is a raffle in which all young participants are guaranteed to win a prize, which is made possible by the numerous pool sponsors. Participants in the U19 age group pay no entry fee for all Racer of the Sea and Winger of the Sea regattas, which was made possible by the cooperation with boot Düsseldorf. With the newly established youth development fund, we now have the opportunity to provide additional support for young talent outside of ROTS. By covering the entry fee for the PWA Youth Slalom event in Klitmöller, we want to encourage young national talent to take the plunge into international competition. This is not only intended to promote the performance development of young people, but also to strengthen intercultural exchange - a component that we extremely appreciate in our sporting careers in retrospect" report the two initiators Oliver Tom Schliemann and Leon Delle.

All Racer of the Sea U19 participants who have taken part in a ROTS this year can make use of the PWA entry fee sponsorship. The last chance to qualify for the sponsorship is to take part in ROTS XII, which will take place from 7 to 8 September 2024 in Hemmelmark near Eckernförde. All information about this event can be found here. If you would like to take advantage of the PWA start-up money sponsorship, please send an e-mail to events@1001grad.de tack.
