The Racer of the Sea and the Winger of the Sea had a great end to the season at the Hemmelmark campsite near Eckernförde from 20 to 21 September. With 54 participants, the two Schesert events were, as always, well attended. The wind did not play along at the beginning, so there were no official results on the first day. Nevertheless, the mood remained positive, not least because of the promising wind forecast for the following day. A BBQ sponsored by Edeka rounded off the first day harmoniously.
The second day delivered what the forecast promised: with winds of 15 to 25 knots from the west, Hemmelmark offered perfect regatta conditions. These conditions not only benefited the foil classes, but also provided the fin slalom riders with top competition conditions. A total of 18 races were held on Sunday - six in each of the three classes. At the final award ceremony, not only the overall winners were honoured, but also the first-place finishers in all sub-classifications. An additional raffle ensured that no participant had to go home empty-handed.
For the organisers Oliver Tom Schliemann and Leon Delle, the planning for the 2026 season has already begun after the successful conclusion of the season. "This successful season has shown how important community and sporting passion are. We are already looking forward to the upcoming challenges and many familiar and new faces next year!" said the two organisers, expressing their satisfaction with the successful conclusion. In addition to the tried-and-tested regatta programmes, next year will also see the return of a Girls Camp and a Pumpfoil Festival are on the programme.
