The Racer of the Sea everyman regatta series set a new record number of participants at the surf festival on Fehmarn on 15 and 16 May. 94 starters, including twelve women and 22 young people, took part in 17 races. The new One Hour formats at Dümmer See and in Strande expanded the series' programme.

The Racer of the Sea everyman regatta series recorded a record number of participants in the 2026 season. At the Surf Festival on Fehmarn on 15 and 16 May, 94 starters took part in the event. took part - a new record for the event series. Among them were twelve women and 22 young people under the age of 19, also new record figures. boot Düsseldorf made it possible for all young people to participate free of charge. Fabian Wolf came out on top in the foil classification and secured overall victory. The final classification was won by Marco Lang, who prevailed in a strong field of participants.

The very first events of the season brought numerous new participants to the start of the regatta for the first time. With the newly introduced One Hour formats on Lake Dümmer in cooperation with the WSCD e.V. and in Strande together with the SCK e.V., the series further expanded its appeal for beginners and ambitious regatta surfers.

Kellenhusen as a test festival and community event

The next tour stop will take place from 14 to 16 August in the Baltic seaside resort of Kellenhusen. This year, Kellenhusen is being organised more as a test festival and community event for the first time. Visitors will have the opportunity to try out equipment from various brands directly on site and exchange ideas with manufacturers and experts.
