For three days, the starters at the IFCA World Championships in Leucate battled with winds at the absolute minimum. Races had to be cancelled again and again and the fleets had to be taken off the water. In the end, there were a total of four eliminations on the scoreboard for the men, which meant that there was even a stringer. Pierre Mortefon came out on top at his home spot, who after his victory in the first round was also the first to cross the finish line once again. Matteo Iachino finished behind him, while Jordy Vonk achieved a very strong result in third place.
Fourth place went to Amado Vrieswijk, who won the second elimination. Fabian Wolf sensationally took victory in heat three. However, because "The Wolf" only finished 21st and 11th in the other eliminations, he had to settle for 15th place in the end. This made Wolf the best German directly ahead of Nico Prien, who slipped down the rankings over the course of the event after a strong start in fifth place.
In the small women's field, Justine Lemeteyer rode unchallenged to victory, even having to take two first places in the end. Marion Mortefon came in behind her, with Mae Davico in third. Alisa Engelmann continued her strong run and only just missed out on the Patrik-dominated podium with fourth place.
It wasn't until the last day of the event that the long-awaited Tramontana finally set in and made a Finnish elimination possible in the men's event. This was won by Maciek Rutkowski ahead of Matteo Iachino and Jimmy Thieme. Nico Prien finished 13th and Fabian Wolf 16th, while the women managed three heats, with Justine Lemeteyer, Jenna Gibson and Marion Mortefon each securing a win. Jenna Gibson finished ahead of Mae Davico and Justine Lemeteyer in the final standings - with one string.
Louise van der Meulen, Hugo Delerue, Ilya Paksoylu, Eleonore Lambeaux and Kasper Nielsen took first place in the very well-staffed youth and junior classes.
