The second day of the Freestyle Pro Tour in Geneva did not look good for the planned foil style competitions. Due to a lack of wind, the programme had to be changed and in the evening there was a Tow-In Super Session. Lennart Neubauer secured victory ahead of Yentel Caers and the surprise third-placed Leander Halm.

The second day of the Freestyle Pro Tour in Geneva began with high expectations for the Foilstyle competitions, but nature had other plans. The riders had been ready since the morning, with a first possible start initially scheduled for 10.30am. However, as thick clouds gathered over Lake Geneva, the wind failed to get going and the start was repeatedly postponed throughout the day. The athletes spent most of the first part of the day in standby mode while they hoped for better conditions.

As the wind remained too weak for a competition, the riders made the most of their time on land. Skateboards and slacklines were unpacked and some even ventured onto the water with pump foils to keep the energy levels high. Despite this, spirits remained high as everyone waited for a wind window that ultimately didn't materialise.

Tow-in with surprises

As the day drew to a close, the event suddenly got moving. The decision was made to officially cancel Foilstyle for the day and instead schedule a Tow-In Super Session at sunset. Before the action got underway, a pre-show stream started, which took a closer look at the Foilstyle format and offered the spectators insights from the riders themselves on how the discipline has developed in recent years.

The tow-in fleet was split into two groups, with two places for the final to be awarded in each group. In Group 1, Lennart Neubauer secured his place with a clean triple funnel, while Leander Halm caused a surprise by defeating both Tigo Kort and Sam Esteve with a powerful Culo 360. The competition in Group 2 was less surprising - Yentel Caers continued his Excellent form from day one and landed another massive triple funnel. Local hero Balz Müller showed his skills on the foil and secured the last ticket for the final with a Burner 360.

Neubauer dominates the final

When the final began, Neubauer showed a consistent performance across all his runs to secure the win. Caers followed in second place with an incredibly stylish one-handed burner that had the crowd on the beach cheering. Leander Halm rounded off the podium in third place - a well-deserved success that emphasised how hard he has been working on his skills in recent months. Despite the lack of wind, the Tow-In Super Session offered the spectators spectacular tricks and top-class freestyle sport.

The schedule for the next day includes the first round of tow-in qualifications. However, if the wind finally picks up, Foilstyle could still make its long-awaited debut. The organisers are keeping all options open, because anything can happen in Geneva.
