The Freestyle Pro Tour (FPT) kicks off the 2025 season with a tow-in at boot Düsseldorf. Europe's best freestyle windsurfers will compete on the action pool in Hall 17.

boot Düsseldorf 2025 runs from 18 to 26 January, with the freestyle pros competing on the second weekend of the trade fair. A training session is planned on the pool on Friday (24 January 2025), the qualifiers will take place on Saturday (25 January), followed by the grand finale on Sunday as the highlight.

"With prize money of €15,000, this will be the biggest and most exclusive tow-in event on the Freestyle Pro Tour to date!" says the FPT. The top 12 of the 2024 ranking list for the men and the top 4 for the women are seeded as starters. In addition, 4 wildcards for the men and 2 wildcards for the women will be available for exceptional riders who can also take part in the competition. The final tow-in rankings of the FPT will be decided at the event in Geneva in mid-September.

In previous years, windsurfers, wingfoilers, stand-up paddlers and others have presented their disciplines to the boot audience in the Action Pool in Hall 17. Tow-in freestyle was primarily organised as a show event, sometimes in cooperation with the German Freestyle Battles. In addition to a cable car, there are also more than 80 wind rotors at the pool, which are intended to make realistic water sports possible.
