The Freestyle Pro Tour was already a guest in Cape Town in spring 2023 - back then there was a spectacular event with a mixture of freestyle and wave conditions, which Marc Paré won in the men's category and Pauline Katz in the women's category (HERE there's the report). Now the new edition starts, from 6-16 February 2024 the waiting period for the first event of the year begins. Conditions in Cape Town have already been promising over the last few days and some of the best freestylers are using the days leading up to the event for training.

However, the event in Cape Town is just the prelude - the tour calendar is once again full to bursting, with 14 events on the programme for the 2024 season. As in the previous year, there will once again be a star system to classify the events. The basis is the "Proving Ground Series" with one to five stars, which primarily includes national and junior events. Above this is the "Continental Series" with six to eight stars, followed by the "Championship Series" with nine and ten stars. Points can be scored for the ranking list at all events, and women will also be able to compete in all of them. At the end of the year, there will be winners of the individual rankings and overall champions.
As part of the "Proving Ground Series", the German Freestyle Battles (GFB) will once again be part of the freestyle tour, including the contest as part of the Surf festivals on Fehmarn. As soon as the action in Cape Town has picked up speed and there are first results to report, you will of course be informed here on the website. Stay tuned!
