Freestyle Pro Tour Vieste: Maaike Huvermann wins women's freestyle, Yentel Caers defends first place in foil style

That was it for this year in Vieste. The ladies managed to complete a freestyle elimination on the last day of the event - the men ran out of wind and time, leaving them with one result in the foil style category.

Action-packed days at the Freestyle Pro Tour in Vieste! During the last two days of the event, the second round in foilstyle was completed and a single elimination was also held for the women in freestyle (with fins). Unfortunately, the men ran out of wind on the fin on the last day of the event - they therefore left with only a partial elimination in the fin category.

Day 4: Foilstyle in Vieste

Yentel Caers managed to solidly defend his first place in the second round in foil style.
In the final against Lennart Neubauer, he won by a slightly larger margin than in the first round, as Lennart only attempted manoeuvres with a very high degree of difficulty in order to collect enough points. However, he was not to succeed at this moment.
The most successful European freestyler, 37-year-old Steven van Broeckhoven, rounded off the podium in third place.

Day 5: Classic freestyle on the fin

Thunderstorms and rain in the morning - acceptable freestyle conditions in the afternoon.
But unfortunately not strong enough and long enough to complete the men's elimination. After eight heats it was over for the time being. This meant that only the first round could be narrowly completed. However, the talent of 16-year-old Takumi Moriya from Japan was particularly noticeable, who caused a stir in the first round with cleanly executed power moves in the absolute light wind.

After a short break, the competition organisers then sent the women out onto the water: European champion Maaike Huvermann from the Netherlands once again demonstrated her skills. In the challenging conditions, she conjured up elegant manoeuvres on the water with a 5.2 sail and a 100-litre freestyle board, which she had borrowed at short notice from her team colleague Dieter van der Eyken.
The German student from Kiel, Lisa Kloster, was able to beat Britain's Claire Elliot and finished in a magnificent second place.
