Hanstholm was buzzing at the start of the holidays - windsurfers from all over the world had travelled to the north of Denmark.

For a long time, a sign hung on the balcony of a house in Hamburg's Stresemannstraße, one of the city's busiest traffic routes: "You're not stuck in traffic, you ARE traffic".

On the first holiday weekend in Hanstholm, this undoubtedly true saying came to mind again when trying to ride a wave with five other surfers. Low pressure had already been blowing through since last Friday, attracting windsurfers from all over Germany, but also from Sweden, Poland and even Hungary to Cold Hawaii. After a short break on Saturday, the wind slowly picked up again on Sunday - 20 knots sideshore and chest-high waves were on offer. On Monday, Neptune stepped it up a notch and there were nice jumping conditions and winds of around 25 knots all day.

In the picture gallery above you can get an impression of the start of the holiday in Hanstholm.
